We have seen hundreds of new TV propositions… and indeed, we are delighted that many are now our clients, and are doing well. But, sadly, the majority of ideas we see never get off the ground.
Our microchannel "incubator" offering is ideal for testing new broadcast ventures. If it doesn't work as a programme, it will never work as a channel !
But what makes for a viable proposition, and what are the essential ingredients for success?
There are four key questions which every new TV venture must ask itself, and be able to answer properly and credibly.
- How are you going to make money out of your proposition?
- How is the audience going to know about your programmes?
- Is your programme content available, sustainable, and affordable
- Are you able to interest the audience sufficiently to bring them back, week after week?
There are of course many other factors which are important in launching any broadcast venture, but in our experience, any proposition which can't adequately answer all the above questions will struggle. We can help, but we can't do the work for you in answering these questions!
